San Miguel School | Video Production
Providence, RI
CHALLENGE:
The story behind the partnership between Bunker Hill Media and the San Miguel School in Providence, RI is one far deeper than just an explanation of what we were approached with for a video concept. The San Miguel School was our first client. They were the first ones who really believed in us and gave us a shot to changes our lives. Really, writing this makes me want to tear up because this is where it all began. Below you can find a video of John Wolf, the school’s Director at the time, explaining what the school was doing to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic. That right there was the first ever film Sam and I made together as Bunker Hill Media. Pretty epic. And the best part is we’re still really really proud of that video.
Since then, we’ve been fortunate enough to team up with this incredible band of educators and leaders to create 8 (I can’t believe it’s been 8!!) videos to support different missions and campaigns along the years. We feel incredibly fulfilled by the content that we’ve created for this amazing school and we are excited to see what the future holds. From quick videos of students talking about their favorite part of their school day to conversations held between some of the school’s most influential leaders + educators, every video has been so special. We can’t wait to dive into the next!
PRODUCTION:
Well, with eight videos under our belts – and considering the impetus of Bunker Hill Media was our first film with San Miguel – it’s safe to say that we’ve used a wide range of gear on these shoots. Primarily, most of these have been shot with the Sony FX3, Sony FX30 or the Sony A7iii. The majority of the early videos use natural lighting or small LED panels and Rode Go mics. The latests shoots are home to our new Nanlite FC500B bi-color LED spotlight and our Deity S-Mic 2s shotgun mic.
Logistically, the school has been such an incredible partner in getting these shoots efficiently over the finish line. Every single student + staff member we’ve worked with in the building has treated us like family. It’s easy to do good work when you feel at home!
Also really importnat to note that Trevor Holden was an integral part of our camera team / DP for the COVID 19 shoot and “The Miracle of San Miguel”!
DELIVERABLES:
8 (8!!) 2:00 - 3:00 minute storyteller videos. This makes us so happy and we can’t wait for the next.
Here’s what Mel Bride is saying about Bunker Hill Media:
“Working with Sam and Gaby was amazing. Rarely do you encounter such a strong combination of vision, EQ, professionalism and creativity. Bunker Hill created some incredibly powerful pieces for us that captured our story and the voices of the boys in genuine and authentic ways. We could not be happier and highly recommend Bunker Hill to anyone looking for powerful story-telling.”
Specifically about our last video via LinkedIn:
“We cannot say enough about our multi-year and multi-project engagement with Bunker Hill Media! Their visuals are incredible, their story telling reflects deep listening, and their energy cannot be beat. We have been absolutely thrilled with their work and can attest to the fact that their videos generate genuine interest in and much-needed funds for our mission-driven school. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. HIRE THEM!”
Here’s what John Wolf is saying about Bunker Hill Media:
“This company creates visual storytelling magic. As director of a small mission-based school for low income boys, I needed someone to communicate our mission to donors, community partners, families, and alumni. They did so with great authenticity, rich imagery, and clear understanding of who we are and what we do. Sam and Gaby are thoughtful, strategic partners who I would not hesitate to invest in again. If you work with Bunker Hill Media, you will not be disappointed. They will increase the potential good of your company or your project.”
