Video Examples For Little Leaf Farms
Below are several examples of the deliverables from our project with Boston Chefs x Little Leaf Farms.
ABOUT LITTLE LEAF FARMS:
Little Leaf Farms is a pioneer in greenhouse-grown lettuce, delivering incredibly fresh, crispy greens to grocery stores across New England. If you shop at Stop & Shop, Whole Foods, Shaw's, Star Market, Roche Bros, or similar stores, you’ve likely spotted their products. With sustainability and freshness at the heart of their mission, LLF is redefining how people think about lettuce.
THE CHALLENGE PRESENTED BY LITTLE LEAF FARMS:
We teamed up with Boston Chefs, who acted as the incredible creative directors on this project, to reimagine the Little Leaf Farms “Tastemonial” campaign. The goal was clear: produce a series of engaging videos that paired stunning salad visuals with playful text-message-style graphics showcasing customer love for LLF lettuce. The challenge? Make lettuce – a product perhaps not typically associated with customer reviews – so irresistible it practically demands fan feedback.
THE APPROACH WITH LITTLE LEAF FARMS:
We focused on crafting a series of ads designed for social media and streaming platforms. The videos aimed to accomplish two goals:
Reinforce the loyalty and love of LLF’s existing customer base.
Entice new customers by spotlighting the exceptional freshness, crispiness, and overall appeal of LLF lettuce.
To achieve these objectives, we:
Shot visually captivating footage that highlighted the vibrant, fresh qualities of LLF lettuce in a variety of salad preparations.
Used dynamic motion graphics to animate text-based "reviews" in a way that felt modern and fun.
Ensured each video maintained a fast-paced, visually engaging style to keep viewers hooked from start to finish.
PRE-PRODUCTION FOR LITTLE LEAF FARMS:
Bunker Hill Media worked hand in hand with Boston Chefs and Little Leaf Farms throughout the production process, starting with creative collaboration in pre-production. The team at Boston Chefs provided a fantastic set of storyboards, from which we created a detailed shot list, shoot plan, and fully custom motion graphics. We carried out a successful test shoot, which allowed us to create a strong proof of concept ahead of the shoot. We also assisted with shoot logistics, securing a studio space and several key pieces of equipment that were essential to the shoot. Throughout the pre-production period, we were in constant contact with the team at Boston Chefs to ensure a smooth, effective production.
THE SHOOT WITH LITTLE LEAF FARMS:
The next task was to capture that exact shot—an overhead of the fork going into the salad and removing a bite. To accomplish this, we mounted our camera on a crane, which allowed us to capture a perfect top-down shot, while adding in some eye-catching zoom motion. Again, timing was critical, and it took several rehearsals and test runs to nail the perfect shot.
The final shot that we captured was actually the intro of each video. Another overhead shot, the product spins into frame, creating an eye-catching hook that draws the viewer in. To accomplish this shot, we once again mounted the camera on a crane and attached a piece of fishing line to the package, which allowed us to create the spinning effect.
The shoot itself took place over two days at the fantastic Studio East in East Boston. The space was ideal for our shoot, and came equipped with a trove of equipment that was essential to creating the perfect look and feel that the client was looking for.
The shoot required several different setups to capture all of the necessary footage. Our first task was to capture the main "background" shot for each video, which consisted of a salad on a clean countertop. A hand enters the frame several times to add additional ingredients to the salad, and finally the same hand enters the frame with a fork, taking a bite from the salad. Timing was absolutely essential for the final sequence, as it had to match a clip that was included in the text conversation overlaid on the final piece (see the final video below for exactly what we mean!). This shot required an extensive lighting setup to make the product pop and minimize shadows.
POST-PRODUCTION FOR LITTLE LEAF FARMS:
Thanks to our careful planning in pre-production and our seamless execution on set, we were well positioned for an efficient post-production process.
We added our shots, customized our pre-built motion graphics templates with the relevant content for each tastemonial, ensured that our timing was spot on, and added a series of smooth transitions to make each video pop.
After incorporating a round of revisions from the client, we had our final products done and dusted. Check out a few examples of our work from this project below!
CHALLENGES + SOLUTIONS:
With over 25 unique assets to produce, this project required meticulous organization. The assets included various video lengths, aspect ratios, and customized motion graphics for each different tastemonial. From pre-production to final edits, careful planning and teamwork ensured every piece met the highest standard of quality while staying on schedule with key deadlines.
