Video Production for Boston Magazine

Here’s a look at three videos we have produced for Boston Magazine. Two feature the epic Taste 2022 event and one was produced alongside their editorial team for a special feature!

Challenge x Boston Magazine Taste 2022:

BHM was approached by Boston Magazine to provide video coverage of their premiere food and beverage event, Taste 2022. The client requested both a two-and-a-half minute highlight reel of the event, and a 30-second teaser for use on their social media and YouTube platforms.

Boston Magazine’s legendary Taste event - kicking off their November food & beverage issue, was back in its full splendor in 2022. We were honored to attend and create this highlight reel of the event! We created a 30-second teaser for a quicker recap of Boston Magazine’s Taste 2022 event.

Production for Boston Magazine Taste 2022

Another lean production… I’m sensing a theme here! for this one we covered the event with 2 Sony FX3 cameras and a really, REALLY directional microphone. The event was absolutely electric and jam-packed with happy eaters, so as you might imagine conducting on-the-fly interviews was quite the auditory feat! We really prepared well for this beforehand and we were pretty stoked with the outcome of this project. We loved our work with this team and can’t wait for the next one!

Boston Magazine x South Shore Bank – The Challenge:

Boston Magazine approached us to create a compelling video to accompany their editorial feature on South Shore Bank. The challenge was to capture the bank’s deep connection with the local arts community, particularly their partnership with the South Shore Conservatory. The goal was to showcase the vibrant relationship between finance and the arts in a way that felt authentic, professional, and visually engaging, while appealing to a broad audience.

Our team at Bunker Hill Media embraced this challenge with precision and creativity. Utilizing the Sony FX3 and FX30, we shot in S-Log to maximize dynamic range and ensure vibrant, true-to-life colors that reflected the artistry of the conservatory. The production process included:

  • Pre-Production: We collaborated closely with Boston Magazine’s editorial team to develop a shot list and production plan that aligned with the story’s tone and vision.

  • On-Location Filming: Filming took place at an elementary school in Brockton, capturing stunning visuals of its spaces, programs, and people. We used multiple camera setups to seamlessly combine wide, immersive shots with intimate, storytelling-focused angles.

  • Attention to Detail: Lighting and composition were meticulously planned to highlight the unique energy of the conservatory and the community it serves.

  • Post-Production: Leveraging our expertise in color grading, we transformed the raw S-Log footage into a polished final product that brought out the rich hues and dynamic textures of the scene.
