Urbanity Dance | Video Production

CHALLENGE:
We really really love working with Urbanity and – lucky for us – 2023 marked the third year in a row that we’ve had the pleasure of creating some magic with them.
Before we get into the project more… here is a snippet directly from their website: "Urbanity Dance is a nonprofit arts organization that exists to inspire, engage, and empower individuals and communities through the art of dance and movement." We're really proud of the work we've done with Urbanity and from experience we can say that we've seen the lives they've impacted here in Greater Boston.
In 2021 their team reached out to us in hopes of securing a promotional video to help with marketing purposes. Since then we’ve worked with them on getting them quite a few deliverables ranging from videos with that same goal to videos driven to pull in donations. Whatever the project, we love any project we do with this team!
PRODUCTION:
Throughout our working relationship, we have spent several days on site at Urbanity’s Harrison Street studio in the South End of Boston. We have made good use of a relatively small space, building out several unique interview setups and capturing fast-paced b-roll of the incredible dancers from a variety of angles and focal lengths. The result is a suite of video content that looks as though it may have been shot in a much larger location (or several locations), which serves to build compelling visual interest within the series of videos.
We collaborated closely with the team from Urbanity in pre-production to craft stories that showcase the impressive range of programming available at Urbanity, and to feature an incredibly diverse group of students and teachers with a wide range of backgrounds in dance.
We are very proud of the content that we have created together!
DELIVERABLES:
I think this is best described as, well… a whole lot! We’ve been fortunate enough to work with Urbanity for three years now and we’ve produced everything from long-form, story-based videos, to website banner videos, to short form reels to support fundraising campaigns. We’ve taken a group of reels we’ve made and turned them into longer form pieces - the list goes on and on and we can’t wait for what’s next!
