An Inside Look On Our Video Production Services with Small Business in Boston.
Small businesses in Boston face the unique challenge of standing out in a crowded market. From the hustle of downtown to the charm of Charlestown, local businesses need to find innovative ways to engage their audience and build a strong connection with their community. One of the most effective ways to do this is through video marketing.
At Bunker Hill Media (BHM), we’ve had the privilege of working with some truly remarkable local businesses. Our work with Monroe Home & Style, Junebug, and Place & Gather has not only helped them build brand awareness, but it has allowed us to work within our community on projects that we truly cared about. Here's how we helped these Boston-based businesses thrive using high-quality, compelling video content.
Monroe Home & Style: Crafting Videos That Bring a Story to Life
Creative Challenge
Monroe Home & Style, a boutique home décor store in Charlestown, Massachusetts, approached Bunker Hill Media with a challenge: create a series of highly stylized videos for an ad campaign that would drive traffic to their website and boost sales. The goal was to capture the unique atmosphere of their store and convey it in a way that made viewers feel like they were walking through the shop, discovering hidden corners filled with beautiful, high-quality products. Owner Donna wanted the videos to have a natural, true-to-store feel, encouraging viewers to want to take home the products they saw.
Video Production
The shoot was nothing short of magical. We used our Sony FX3 in a standard profile setting, a departure from the usual log settings, because Donna wanted a more natural look that felt true to the atmosphere of the store. No heavy color correcting was necessary; we let the beauty of the shop shine through.
In the kitchen setting, we captured gorgeous shots of Monroe’s stunning products, making sure to focus on details that told the story of the products and their place in the store. We also transitioned to an interview setup where Donna shared her story, explaining the inspiration behind her store and the curated selection of home goods. We filmed in a brick-and-mortar location just north of Boston in Charlestown, capturing the essence of what it was like to shop at Monroe Home & Style.
Deliverables
The result was a series of videos and photos that reflected the soul of the store. We delivered:
4 x 30-60 second vertical B-roll videos
1 x 60-90 second vertical interview video
Photos of the store to accompany the videos and used for additional marketing materials
These videos, shot with a cinematic touch, helped showcase Monroe’s fantastic range of products while bringing the warmth and beauty of the store directly to potential customers' screens. The campaign proved successful, with increased traffic to the Monroe Home & Style website and an uptick in sales.
Junebug: Showcasing the Magic of Floral Arrangements Through Video
Creative Challenge
Junebug, a renowned flower shop and delivery service in Charlestown, was ready to elevate their brand with video marketing. As one of the best floral boutiques in Boston, Junebug wanted a video that not only showcased the beauty of their flowers but also highlighted their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. More than that, they wanted to tell the story of Amanda Mitchell, the founder of Junebug, and what makes the shop such a beloved part of the Charlestown community.
Video Production
Our approach to Junebug’s video was multi-faceted, combining both the beauty of their floral arrangements and the personal touch of Amanda’s story. We started by filming inside their Charlestown location, using our Sony FX3 to capture the vibrant atmosphere of the shop. This was our first time shooting indoors with this camera, and the results were stunning. We focused on the intricate details of Junebug’s floral arrangements, ensuring every shot conveyed the meticulous care and artistry involved in creating these beautiful pieces.
Amanda’s interview was the centerpiece of the video. She shared her journey, the passion behind Junebug, and her deep ties to the community. The combination of high-quality visuals and a heartfelt narrative truly showcased what Junebug is all about.
Deliverables
The final deliverables included:
1 x 2:30 minute brand video highlighting the shop and Amanda’s story
Multiple Reels for social media
Photos to capture the vibrant essence of the shop and arrangements
The video quickly garnered attention, and Junebug saw an increase in online engagement and traffic, both for flower deliveries and general inquiries about their services. By telling their story through video, Junebug solidified its position as the go-to flower shop in Boston, further connecting with their loyal customer base and attracting new clients.
Place & Gather: Capturing the Heart of a Boutique Through Cinematic Storytelling
Creative Challenge
Place & Gather, a boutique in the heart of historic Charlestown, is known for its mix of Palm Beach flair and New England charm. The boutique wanted a video that would resonate with both longtime customers and newcomers, showcasing the unique shopping experience they offer. Place & Gather’s owner, Amanda Mitchell, wanted a video that not only highlighted the diverse products in the store but also captured the vibrant atmosphere and personal service that makes Place & Gather a staple in Charlestown.
Video Production
We used our Sony FX3 and Aputure lighting to capture Place & Gather’s unique atmosphere in cinematic glory. The Ronin RS2 gimbal was key in achieving smooth, dynamic shots as we moved through the aisles, showcasing the beautifully curated products that line the shelves. We wanted every shot to tell a story—one that highlighted the special place Place & Gather holds in the Charlestown community.
The focus was on bringing out the boutique’s charm, from the detailed shots of their home décor and gifts to capturing the personal interactions between the staff and customers. The goal was to make the audience feel like they were right there in the store, experiencing the warmth and attention to detail that Place & Gather is known for.
Deliverables
The video campaign included:
1 x 2:30 minute vertical B-roll video
Multiple Reels for social media
Photos of the store to accompany the videos
The video effectively communicated the heart of Place & Gather’s brand, showcasing the boutique as a destination for special gifts and home décor. The results were significant, with increased social media engagement and foot traffic to the store.
